Scoop Holman's Medical Fund

Scoop Holman has always been a strong believer in giving back to the community.  Although he hasn't been in the position to give a lot back in regards to money, he has spent his entire adult life giving back to the children of the community in the sports arena.  For the past 25 years he has coached consistently for the Ashland Vikings football, Ashland Little League, Libery Middle School, Ashland basketball and Virginia Vipers.  He has spent countless hours working with these children of the community not only to teach them the skills necessary to play these sports but also to teach them leadership skills.

Scoop is currently experiencing life threatening health issues and is at his time of need.

In April he went to the ER with chest pains and difficulty breathing.  At first he was diagnosed with pneumonia.  The lung doctor quickly changed that diagnosis to fluid in his lungs caused by a heart attack.  So apparently he had had a heart attack previously without knowing it.  After a week in the hospital he was released.

On May 5th, he went back in the hospital for valve replacement surgery.  He was then in the hospital for 5 more days.  He was released but unable to return to work at this point.  On June 5th, he returned to the ER with chest and stomach pains.  He was admitted to the Critical ICU with high blook pressure and a pouch on his aorta.  At this time he is still in CICU.

He is the father of 5 children with 3 of those under the age of 18.  And he is the primary caregiver of 2 children ages 7 and 5.

Scoop had to leave his job May 5th for his surgery and has had no income since that time.  He also has no insurance due to his former job not offering it.

So far he has not been approved for Medicaid or any financial assistance for these medical bills.  These bills are quickly adding up.  As well as his monthly bills for rent, car payment and car insurance.

Scoop has never been the person who asks for help, but at this time it is pretty necessary as the stress from these bills adding up is not helping the current situation with his heart problems.  Please consider donating what you are able to in Scoop's time of need.  Thanks.
