School Supplies for Distance Learning

Wednesday is the First Day of Virtual Learning for our community!    LCPS has done an incredible job making sure all our children are being fed breakfast and lunch so they are ready to learn! LCPS has made sure our older students have the tools they need such as chrome books and hot spots to be engaged  learners for the next several months.  They have also committed to meeting the needs of our youngest learners by mailing packets to all K-2 families in LCPS.   

But many families don't have basic school supplies in their homes right now. The items they provided in August are locked in our classrooms waiting to be used next year.  The purchase of pencils, crayons, glue sticks and scissors is simply not possible for many families who have lost jobs and are struggling.  

YOUR  donation can help makes sure these supplies are mailed DIRECTLY to our neighbors who are in need. To children who go to school in Leesburg.   I will be partnering with StoryBook Treasures to donate any amount I get... they will then pack and ship to our kids homes a school supply kit.... for $20 we can give each child a book and some basic school supplies so that we can make sure our k-2 students can use the packets they are being sent in the best way possible.    

Years ago I ran "Porch Pals" in order to help one of our local middle schools distribute weekend groceries to school families.   It was a wonderful outreach that was simple and yet did much good.   It has been a while since I asked for your help... but I am asking now.
