School supplies for Bangladeshi children

The above picture is of a classroom in Bangladesh located in the town my grandma grew up in. The picture is pretty recent and it shows what conditions students there grow up and learn in. Many of these students have a hard time buying supplies like notebooks and pencils and the schools there are in no condition to give them away for free.

My grandma always wanted her kids and grandkids to be highly educated, especially the girls in the family. A lot of families (unfortunately) groom their daughters for marriage instead of investing in their future careers, similar to what happened to her. After she unexpectedly passed away, I wanted to figure out a way to do something meaningful in her name. For that reason, I’m hoping to raise some money to purchase school supplies for students whose parents can not afford them. My cousin, who lives in that town, will use the donations to purchase the supplies. All receipts will be kept in case you want a copy of it! We did the math out and to get ONE student 2 notebooks, 3 pencils, 3 pens, an eraser, sharper, and a pencil case would cost roughly $1.30 while getting them a backpack along with those supplies would cost a total of ~$5.40. A small donation of even $1 goes along way. I would really appreciate anything you can spare to make some elementary school children really happy and excited to learn!
