Help Us Fight For Autism School

This is Yaya, my beautiful little Yaya, who has "severe" autism.
Yaya is 12 years old with a face of an angel! But, Yaya needs help!

On good days, he loves tickles and Thomas the Tank Engine and he also has a companion in Pooh Bear and especially Tigger, whose hyperactive energy, he really identifies with.  Yehia has a very restricted diet and is very particular about how and the order he allows himself to do things.

Yaya was diagnosed with severe autism and other underlining mental health issues, at 3 years old when he suddenly fell silent and would stare into space with no expression.  Unfortunately, Yaya is in urgent need of dedicated and intensive therapy, that is both educational and life skill based.  He is non-verbal, with extreme anxiety, sleep disturbances, profound sensory needs and obsessive compulsive disorders, that hold him hostage on a day-day, hour-hour basis.

Due to being non-verbal, he gets very frustrated and has major meltdowns and tantrums that can go for hours and hours, resulting in self-harm and very painful to watch.

The daily tasks and basic activities that many take for granted such as going for walks, playing together, sitting with one another and sleeping through the night, are impossible tasks for us.
I have found an amazing specialist school that will focus on giving him the chance to live a "normal" functional autistic life, as best he can.  The school has a proven success rate.  I am so desperately trying to give him the opportunity in life that he needs.

Such schooling is a provision by Council funding.  I am going to tribunal to appeal the change of schooling for my son, to an autism provision that will provide him with intensive therapy as well as life skills, he so urgently requires.

This is a very tough Tribunal Appeal Process to undertake, which requires independent reassessments and representation at the hearing.  He has been assessed and deemed overly in need of such a  school and he has been offered a placement.   In my case, the Local Authority have failed in providing him with a school that can help Yaya live a decent life in the future and this will now result in a Tribunal Appeal’s Hearing to change schools. We do not have the funds.  Please help us raise the fees for independent assessments and representation at the hearing!

His conditions and way of life are worsening, and I have to act now for the well-being of Yaya.  Any assistance that anyone can offer to help me give my son the start in life he so desperately needs would be so warmly received.

Thank you for your time and once more any help would be warmly received.

Love Nina
