School for Haitian children in Port-au-Prince

Edjour Edouard is a good friend of mine from my time volunteering in Haiti while I was in medical school. He came to me asking for help fundraising for a school he has started for the impoverished children in his community in Port-au-Prince, Haiti that could not afford an education.  All the funds collected by this campaign will go directly towards the school's budget for items such as teacher salaries, textbooks and school supplies, school meals and uniforms.

A message from the school's founder:

My name is Edjour Edouard, I am a Haitian father of two beautiful children living in Port-au-Prince.

Children in Haiti face tough challenges such as hunger, malnutrition and limited access to education. I had the idea to create this school for my community because I believe that education is the only way we can reduce insecurity and poverty in Haiti. Children are the future for a better Haiti and this must start with an education. Many of these children have been abandoned and it really hurts my heart and so I started this school as a way to help them.

I cannot fund the school without the help of people like you. Every donation contributes towards the everyday functioning of the school including textbooks, school meals and teacher salaries. For some of our children this may be the only meal they have all day.

Thank you in advance for your sponsorship!

Edjour Edouard
