School bus Tiny Home Conversion

Donation protected
FIrst off thanks for taking time to check out my campaign!

So straight up:

I am raising money to buy and outfit a schoolbus to be my tiny home on wheels. The schoolbus is going to cost about $5,000. The materials needed to outfit the bus to function off grid will cost somewhere from $3,000-$5,000( insolation, furnace, solar power, water containment, wood materials to furnish, propane fridge stove and oven)

Now the Story:

I am a 22 year old male who enjoys the outdoor thrills of skiing /snowboarding, surfing mountainbiking and photography.

Now here I am at a dead end "9-5" job. I am stuck in cycle where i am spending more time completing tasks for my boss rather than enjoying life doing the things I Love.  One day just before lunch i found myself in utter despair. Lunch came and I went home. I was now free of judgement as I was alone. I broke down. I was laying on the ground of my parents house crying and screaming. I felt as if i had succumbed to society, and they got wanted from me. At this point all i wanted was freedom. Freedom from the 9-5, freedom from rent, freedom from utility bills, freedom to be skiing in mountains during winter and surfing at the beach in summer and on my mountainbike anywhere inbetween.

So how was i ever supposed to achieve this elaborate dream?

Well it hit me dead in the flesh; I was changing out of my wetsuit after a surf sesh and a schoolbus was passing by. This was no ordanary schoolbus. It was outfitted with all of these exterior contraptions to hold surfboards bikes and much more. On the inside it was a fully furnished custom living space.

Fastfoward to when i got home->
I started researching the posibilities of converting a schoolbus into an RV or tiny home. So like anyone else in this modern age I poped in a few searches to google. What came next was an insight. A glimpse at what my future was to become. Because in that moment i knew living out of school bus was my destiny. I was ready to take a leap of faith. It was time to take full advantage of my youth.

The lifestyle that follows was everything i had been aiming for: adventure, travel, minimalism, and escape from the clutches of society.

So here i am now in the present where I am saving every penny to make this happen. Everyday after work i get back on the computer invetigateing how others have converted their schoolies; taking notes. Thus furthering the plans for my very own schoolie.

I don't expect many donations. In fact I plan on fufilling this dream on my own if I must. Nevertheless I would be more than greatfull to be supported by anyone who would like to catalyse the proscess of preperation for the journey that lies ahead.

If i make it out this winter i plan on heading up to Mamoth Mountain where i can ease myself into the schoolie lifestyle with the help of the ski resorts accomidations(bathrooms water ect.). By winter 2018/2019 I plan to make it out to Jackson hole Wyoming. That is when the life long dream of skiing in jacksonhole will become a reality.

Thank you kindly,
Gavin Kilcoyne

P.S. Since i am a photogropher and an amature film maker i will be documenting the process of the conversion so all of you can join me in the process.
