Scholarship fund in honour of Jayne Collins

Jayne Collins (nee Hiscocks) taught at City College Plymouth, delivering Mathematics amongst other subjects to both further education and higher education engineering students.
Jayne's passion for her specialist discipline along with her open and bubbly personality made this difficult subject attainable and fun for all who were taught by her.
We are now raising funds towards a scholarship in Jayne's name to support one student per year through an engineering university-level Higher National Certificate (HNC) of their choice. Throughout Jayne's career, she was keen to support not only those who came to use with high A level grades or even previous degree's in a mathematic discipline but also those who left school with lower GCSE's or were returning to education after a long break. Therefore this fund will go towards supporting someone who may not have considered higher education in the past and would benefit from the kind of support Jayne gifted many of our students over her teaching career at City College Plymouth.
At today's rate a two year part-time HNC costs £5450 across the length of the programme, it is, therefore, our ambition to raise this sum of money on an annual basis, through our HE, FE and student communities.
