Linda Gregory Scholarship Fund

The unfortunate story:

As many of you know, Linda was doing what she loved, photographing a high school football game! But due to injuries she passed away September 8th.

The good part:

But most importantly (also as many of you know), Linda had love for everyone. No doubt she always had a winning smile alongside an ornery and sassy sense of humor. But on top of Linda's humor and smile, she was a rare individual with the ability to see the positive attributes in everyone she met. Regardless of your walk of life or hers, Linda wanted you to recognize how special you were. Therefore, in continuation of her legacy a scholarship fund has been set up in her honor to benefit Northwest High School students

What the fund has achieved so far:

Two students who graduated from Wichita Northwest High School, and have been accepted to attend college in the fall, were each presented with part of Linda Gregory's memorial scholarship award on April 29th, 2024. (Senior's night at NWHS) by Mel Gregory. Next year, and the year after that, in '25 and '26 two more students will also have the opportunity to apply for this scholarship thanks to your generous donations!

Key points of the award:

That $$ will go directly to the High School Graduate's college to assist with their tuition.

Thanks to your generous donations, the graduating class of 2025 and 2026 will also have a chance to apply for the award! This is awesome, because not all the students who knew and loved fabulous Linda are seniors now! Some are juniors, sophomores, freshman and we want them ALL to have an opportunity to apply for beloved Linda's scholarship!

Requirements for Wichita Northwest students to apply:

-Have an interest in photography. That doesn't mean major in photography, the stupendous Linda didn't!

-So, to showcase their interest, each applicant will send me a digital portfolio of at least 15 photos. I've directed the applicants to fantastic Linda's webpage (www.lindagregory.com) to get ideas and to understand how I'll judge them. (I almost included *NO phone camera photos!* But I can hear exceptional Mommy's voice in my head, "Sonya, not everyone can afford camera equipment!")

-In addition, each applicant must have a minimum GPA and have been accepted to a College or University in the fall.

If you would prefer to donate by check or cash directly to the bank, you can make the check out to Linda Gregory Scholarship Fund, then, you can either drop the check or cash off at any Fidelity Bank location or mail it to:

or give it directly to Mel Gregory, Lance or Sonya Dingman (her children), Tara or Brenda Gregory (his daughters) to deposit in the account at Fidelity set up specifically for this.
