Hi, my name is Rio the Messenger. I am a songwriter, musician and musical teaching artist based in Jersey City, New Jersey. I am honored to be leading a Song Writing Camp for youth songwriters ages 12 through 18. This is a very special opportunity for aspiring and emerging songwriters to hone their craft through a 3-week summer intensive at JC Instrumental Music School in Jersey City, NJ.

We want students of all financial backgrounds to have access to this unique opportunity. Our fundraising goal reflects camp tuition for 8 teens to attend this songwriting camp. The cost per student is $600. Our total fundraising goal is aiming to raise funds for 8 scholarships, which would amount to $4,800. Scholarship recipients will be selected from Hudson County public schools.

Participants in this intensive will have the opportunity to learn about song structure, lyrics, melody, harmony, and chord progressions. They will have the opportunity to write their own songs, workshop their songs with their peers, as well as perform their songs for their community.

Any donation is much appreciated and is an investment in the next generation of song writers.
