<div>SCHOLAR Birmingham has roots back to 1922 when a group of community leaders established the Birmingham Student Loan &amp; Scholarship Fund Association. We only make grants today (no loans), and our mission remains the same: to ease the financial burden of graduating seniors who live in the Birmingham School District. Seniors planning on attending college or a registered trade school can apply online; information is available through their high school counselors. Evaluation criteria include financial need, academic performance, school and community involvement, employment history, and any special considerations highlighted by applicants.
