The Schafers journey
If you know Martin and Juli at all, you know that they are loved by so many.
They are the type of people that you want in your corner no matter what comes your way because they will be the first to give you whatever you need. They are givers, lovers, and supporters.

At the age of 16, Juli was diagnosed with PCOS- Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. The doctors at the time told her that she would have complications having children. She decided that she would not worry about it until the time came and controlled the pain and other symptoms associated with PCOS by taking birth control and receiving regular gynecologist care. Well friends, that time is now. It is completely and totally possible for Juli to have children, what the doctors meant to say is "You will have trouble affording to get pregnant via IVF". If you have the privilege of knowing Juli, you know that she is a strong, hardworking, and fiercely loving individual. She's a fighter, and despite everything being thrown at her-she continues to use her vivacious personality to bring awareness to infertility.

In April of 2019, the Schafers had their first fertility appointment. Under the care of Dr. Ravi Gada at DFW Fertility Associates in Southlake, TX, they learned that their only successful way of having a child of their own will need to rely on Invitro Fertilization treatments. Most people start with medication and eventually move on to IUI, and then IVF, but because of the severity of Juli's PCOS , these would be a waste of financial and emotional resources. Total devastation set in for the Schafers, as this will be an almost $20,000 journey. You read that correctly, folks. Almost Twenty-thousand dollars. This is not covered by insurance, and there are no payment plans available. It is an ALL OR NOTHING sequence of procedures and care. All funds raised will go directly to the Schafers and be used for all that is involved with the IVF process-

-Injections
-Egg Harvesting
-Fertilization
-Incubation
-Implantation

Martin said it best himself on facebook, and I wanted to share that here-
"My wife has been very open and public about her PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and she has known about her condition since she was 16. She Told me about it early on in our relationship and we knew that when we wanted children that it would be a difficult process but that still hasn't made this any easier. It still hurts me when my wonderful wife comes home crying because she is struggling with her diagnosis. This is a woman who is so strong, so loving, so unselfish. Someone who I know can handle anything you throw at her and she has had a lot of difficulties thrown her way and she has beaten them all. This is a woman who goes out of her way for those she loves. Someone who loves children so much and is so great with them, it makes me sad, angry, frustrated that someone who is so deserving of children is struggling with conceiving her own. And there is nothing I can do to help."

Any amount donated will be an absolute blessing to this couple. Did you know if 2,700 people donated $5, their IVF treatments would be funded? Skip your starbucks or chick fil a today and make their dreams of having a family come true!
