Het schaakcafé in Den Haag bestaat inmiddels 25 jaar. Door veroudering en gewijzigde regelgeving is een volledige vernieuwing nodig van de locatie. Zonder deze vernieuwing kan het café op de langere termijn niet blijven voortbestaan. De totale kosten zijn begroot op ongeveer 60.000 euro, welke voor een deel gefinancieerd zal worden door subsidies.<br /><br />Het schaakcafé is een non-profitorganisatie draaiende op een sterk betrokken team van vrijwilligers. Donderdag t/m zondagavond is de locatie open voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in denksporten en bordspellen. Op andere dagen zijn worden er clubevenementen georganiseerd.
