Every day we put on our scrubs and walk into the ER with hopes to be the rock for THAT patient in their darkest hours. Nurses in general are a unique breed. But then there are those nurses who go above and beyond for their patients. These nurses work insane schedules to help out the team. They come in early. They leave late. They hold the butt cheek, while you wipe...EVERY TIME. They pick up extra shifts so others don't work short. They leave in the middle of the night to come work the oddball shifts to cover our department. They stand guard so you aren't punched in the face by that combative patient. They are one of the first to offer to donate when they hear of coworkers in need. Some nurses are just damn good people who have a heart of gold and would do anything and everything they can to help others. They refuse to ask for help from others because, like a lot of us they are used to just getting things done themselves.
As most of you may have now heard, one of our own is in need of prayers and support. Linda's face is plastered beside the nurse I described above. She has had quite the devastating year with her family's health. To try to lighten her load some we thought we'd reach out to our work family to love her through this next hurdle she's facing. Her son is currently at VCU starting chemo after receiving the diagnosis last week that every parent fears. If you are able to donate any amount to help with struggles they may incur, I know without a doubt that she will be so grateful to be able to spend as much time as possible supporting him. Please keep her entire family in your prayers.
Thanks for thoughts prayers and any amount you are able to bless them with!
