I have set up this campaign to help a friend who posted on a forum/use-list I frequent in a state of distress - he wasn’t asking for anything - but the distress was palpable and I wanted to show him that as a community we can pull together - I don't want to go further on the quite difficult circumstances.
I have given over authority only to the said person or his family to withdraw money donated - I have no way of withdrawing money.
In summary a "Colleague/Friend" I or others on the livecode forums haven't met face to face, but virtually on the web, where his help has been given and appreciated over the years.
He has had some real bad luck. He needs our Help now. But for the grace of God it could be you or me going through such a situation where we think that everything is against us and we have lost everything financially.
A project it seems he had bet the farm on with thousands in money and months of time failed a demonstration when Google changed the programming interface just as the client was "testing".
He cannot fix the problem in time for this client who has pulled out of the project - the client seems to be someone I wouldn't deal with (and I'm being kind here). The money is needed to tide him over to see if the project can be salvaged with the same client or another client - and I don't want to think about any other reason - he has a family!
The Target is just a figure that will help now - but It sounds like it will need more - please help.
