8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip!

Scarlett is a darling young lady who has really been going through a tough time. I'm her counselor, and when I heard her say "I want to go to Washington, D.C. more than anything ... but probably won't be able to because it costs too much" I told her she would be going. Historically, this trip has been a turning-point for our students. I believe that this experience will provide her with the motivation she needs to continue to remain strong academically in spite of multiple life-stressors. 

She is extremely hard-working, and has been spending many nights at a Christmas tree farm without complaining. She has raised a few hundred dollars on her own, even going door-to-door with cupcakes! The total cost of the trip is $2,300.
