Scarlett, Our Beautiful Angel

Donation protected
At the age of 18 months my dearest friends’ niece Scarlett, experienced abdominal pains and lost her appetite. Scarlett loved food so to lose her appetite was unusual for her. The parents (first time parents) of Scarlett, Karen and Frank were concerned and took her to a GP the day before Anzac Day this year.  The Doctor asked for Scarlett to get an ultrasound done. Following the results of the ultrasound, it was discovered that she had a 15 x 17cm malignant tumor on one of her kidneys which was later diagnosed as Stage 4 Wilms Tumor. Wilms tumor is a cancer of the kidneys that typically occurs in children.

This beautiful little angel has to undergo weekly chemotherapy from April this year to January 2018, had a nasal gastric tube inserted to feed her the nutrients she needs, completed 2 weeks of intense radiotherapy at Peter Mac, underwent a major operation to remove the tumor and kidney in June 17, had numerous blood transfusions as her body is too weak from the chemo to fight any illness such as fevers, colds, etc and has spent countless days and nights at Royal Children’s Hospital. The side effects of Chemo have been terrible. Scarlett is an amazing and strong little girl who is full of energy even though most days are hard for her.

I want to make a difference for Scarlett and I will need your help. I think it would be wonderful if we rewarded her for being such a brave little girl and could raise some money to send Scarlett to Disneyland in France.

As an incentive for your donation, my beautiful hair that I have been growing for 2 years will be dramatically cut in the 1st week of December this year. I’ve never wanted to cut my hair but if we were able to raise enough money to send Scarlett to Disneyland and see her smile just once when she is next to Mickey and Minnie Mouse it will be well worth it.

So if you are inspired by my idea, please be kind enough to make any donation. We will keep you updated, until then please keep Scarlett in your prayers.
