Sickle Cell Action Network (SCAN) is a registered non-profit organization started in 2015 to normalize the conversation around issues that plague the sickle cell community. We believe that the internal cultural stigmas have thwarted the efforts of caregivers, medical professionals and educators who desperately need the continued support to better serve the sickle cell community. By standing on our three internal pillars, we hope to minimize the mental and physical suffering incurred by sickle cell patients nationwide.

Last year with your generosity, we were able to raise close to $4,000 to cover the cost of organizing our first World Sickle Cell day event at the McNabb Community Centre that included and silent auction, 3 course lunch and awards for hospital staff and sickle cell patients.

For the upcoming 2017 World Sickle Cell day (June 19th) we have booked the beautiful Clark Hall at the RA Centre for a community dinner. It is our intention that we can raise enough funds to give all our sickle cell families the opportunity to attend at no cost!

Our Glass Jar account (designed for total transparency) currently holds $1,660.47.  Our goal for this year's Virtual Walkathon is to raise an additional $5,000. We know that this is a very attainable goal and we believe in the power and the generosity of friends and family near and far.

Help spread the word!

Thank you.
