HEART ATTACK survivor
I am a SCAD survivor. This stands for spontaneous coronary artery dissection. 5 days ago I had a heart attack. I’m a healthy 48 year old woman who doesn’t drink or smoke or have any medical conditions that would lead to an attack. But it happened to me and I’m a survivor
I was discharged and I’m home now and facing the realization that I’ll be out of work for at least two months to recover and begin cardiac rehab.
Although I have a full time job waiting for me to go back to, I won’t be receiving a paycheck during my leave of absence. My husband was laid off last year from his job, after six years with the company, and is presently working part time. I carried the responsibility of paying for healthcare for myself and my family, and that is gone now. Plus my paycheck covered a large portion of the rent and bills.
To say this a scary time is an understatement. There are a lot of details to work out regarding my follow up appointments and rehab, especially without owning a car and relying on the public transportation for commuting back and forth.
This is my time to heal and recover, not feel stressed about how the rent and bills will be paid for.
This is an urgent situation and donations will assist in paying for the financials of rent, bills and transportation to my appointments.
I ask you to consider helping my family and I with a generous donation.
Thank you.
