The average cost for each cat we take in is $200. If they get sick, it can climb quickly.
Shots and testing cost $60-80.
Spay and neuter cost $40-50.
Flea meds cost us $600 a month.
URI meds cost $30 per cat.
Worming meds cost $15 per cat.
And this is just the basic costs for our cats.
We also have about $1500 housing expenses each month.
Most of the babies we take in have had no vetting and do not come with donations.
And this time of year, donations get slim overall.
It forces us to stop intakes, even if we have the room. And that is where we are right now.
Without donations, we cannot move forward.
