Nick Bliss's Hurricane Maria Relief

Donation protected
Family and friends,
As many of you already know, and for those of you who don't, Hurricane Maria, a disastrous category 4 hurricane, made landfall in the Caribbean earlier this week. This storm decimated multiple islands, including the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominica, and Guadeloupe, but among the areas affected by the storm, Puerto Rico faced arguably the most severe repercussions. As a Puerto Rican American living in New York with more than half of my family living on the island, the decimation that this storm has caused has directly affected my family, damaging the homes of family members and destroying the small town where my family resides that I have visited every year since I was born. Furthermore, the storm has left the entire island without basic human needs such as electricity, gas, and water, and the island is struggling to function as businesses still haven't been able to reopen and provide the Puerto Rican people with the food, water and other resources necessary to live. After speaking to relatives and seeing the devastation that the island has faced in the news, I decided that I had to try to help the people of Puerto Rico in any way I could. The situation on the island has not improved much since the end of the storm, as the people are being rationed small amounts of food and water which they must wait on line for hours to receive, and a 6pm curfew has been put in place on the island as a measure of safety for its' citizens. Many people have lost their homes, possessions, jobs, and quite frankly their livelihoods to this storm, which came less than 2 weeks after Hurricane Irma. With that said, I am going to be working with Americares.org, a 501 (C) (3) tax-exempt organization, to help provide relief to victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. I will donate 100% of the funds raised towards the organization's Hurricane Maria relief effort, and in turn the organization has promised to use all funds raised in order to deploy volunteers who will help stock emergency centers in San Juan with medical equipment and other supplies necessary to help the people of Puerto Rico who are living through this catastrophic disaster. To do this, I have created my own bank account so that I can securely withdraw all the funds that are generously donated and I am using my newly made contacts in americares.org to donate through their website in a way that will directly get the money raised to the people of Puerto Rico. Please know that no donation is too small, and every penny donated to my campaign is sincerely appreciated. Together, we can all play our part in helping the people of Puerto Rico during their time of need. I look forward to using my platform to make a difference, and thank you to everyone who decides to donate to my cause for helping me in accomplishing this.
Thank you,
Nicholas Bliss
