Sleeping Bags 4 Homeless

It is that time of the year. Winter is approaching and Family Wellness is once again raising funds to purchase sleeping bags for the EastBay's homeless residents.

Last year, I was blown away by the generosity of those in my circle.  I set the monetary goal for $2,500 honestly wondering if I was going to raise enough for one sleeping bag. You all shattered that goal and we raised $6180!!!! Over 175 sleeping bags, 150 blankets, 100+ socks plus food were distributed in the East Bay!!! Well this year I hope to do more.

I have set the goal for $7,500. My hope is that it will be shattered as well. Many of these homeless have no sleeping bags to sleep in during cold nights and are at great risk of exposure and illness due to the cold that has begun to defend upon us. We Are Family Wellness would like to ensure those most vulnerable in the EastBay can stay warm during the long cold winter months. We want to take it further and not only provide them with sleeping bags but give them coats, hats, scarfs, gloves, and socks! #GoBeyondGiving

We realize that this is just a band-aid to a bigger problem. I am in the works with other community leaders with an idea that I hope will add to the solution. It is truly a blessing to have a roof over your head and a warm bed to sleep in.

All funds will strictly go to this project. Let's winterize the East Bay homeless with sleeping bags, coats, hats, scarfs, gloves and socks ensuring our homeless friends stay warm most of the winter. We will distribute items to the EastBay's homeless hot spots during an event in November and in early January. Receipts will be posted.
