Mobilisation Sazberry

Donation protected

Dear family and friends,

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We have decided to embark on the somewhat ambitious task of fundraising for two pieces of equipment - one, a wheelchair trike for Sarah's school; and two, a special needs terrain pushchair to take her out in.

Hence 'Mobilisation Sazberry'.

For those who do not know Sarah (or Sazberry), she is our 6 year old daughter who has an undiagnosed genetic or neurological condition which presents itself in the form of epilepsy, severe hypotonia, global developmental delay and learning difficulties. I have recently started a blog about our life with her (although I have to say it is rather new and I have not written as often or as much as I'd like):

Sarah is a beautiful and wonderful little girl with the most infectious laugh. We love her with all our heart. We are fortunate that she attends a brilliant special needs school with an excellent team of staff whom we know give their very best for the children. Sarah has come along in leaps and bounds ever since she started school last year. We would very much like to give something back to the school and during a chat we had with her teacher last term, she mentioned that the school does not have a special needs wheelchair trike, which we know will benefit a lot of other children, who like Sarah, are in wheelchairs and not physically able to ride a bike or experience the wonder of being on one. So, we are going to raise some pennies to make that dream come true!

The second thing we would like to fundraise for is a Special Tomato Jogger:

We have for many years been using a regular lightweight high street pushchair, and we have now reached a point where Sarah is too tall and heavy for it. We do have a wheelchair but it does not recline, nor does it have a hood. The wheels are small which means it isn't terrain friendly, and it is very (very) (VERY) heavy to lift and push. It is perfectly suitable for use in a school context but not for taking her out for a walk in the woods. The Special Tomato Jogger however ticks all the boxes and it is exactly what we need for now.

Tom, together with some of his friends, are going to run a race this December to fundraise for 'Mobilisation Sazberry'. His brother Dan is also going to take part in a triathlon to raise some pennies for his niece. Sarah's granddad has decided to forgo pressies for his 70th birthday this year in lieu of donations towards the trike. Even some friends are having a quiz night to help! We realise that it is a huge goal to reach but we won't stop till we get there. We need your help.

Dig deep.

THANK YOU. :)

Love
