Sayre Area STEM Team

After creating an original design, the Sayre STEM team entered the annual 2018 Kid Wind Challenge at Penn State Univeristy and placed 2nd in the state. This challenge involved students creating a wind turbine to harness the power of wind and in turn create energy. With the 2nd place finish came an invite to the National Kid Wind Challenge in Chicago, Illinois to showcase their creation. As with many educational institutions around the country, extra funds for these types of activities are scarce. The Sayre STEM team is looking to secure funds to complete this once in a lifetime trip this May. These funds will cover the cost of travel, lodging and meals. The students have been hard at work fundraising and strategizing ways to make this opportunity come to fruition.
