Saying goodbye to Mom, A trip to North Carolina

In 2013 me, my Mom and my younger brother moved into my Grandparents’ house to take care of them, as they were getting older and sick. Eventually my Grandparents passed away and my Mother had trouble parting with the house. She stayed there even as her health deteriorated, but my brother and I had to do what was best for us and we found our way to Oregon.

My mom passed away this past April, after a long battle with her mental and physical health issues.  The pandemic caused a delay, but now my oldest sister and I are able to make a trip back to North Carolina to finalize details of her passing and say goodbye to the home that my Grandparents built for themselves, and which we lived in for many years. This is presenting us with many challenges…mainly we are concerned about gas, food, and our bills while we take 1-2 weeks to hopefully get all of my mom’s assets in order. If we can’t raise enough money for both of us then I will give whatever money we get to my oldest sister for gas and hotel if needed along the way since she will be alone. I hate to ask anything from anyone, especially when we are all going through such a trying time, but I am at a loss of what else to do. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
