Saying farewell to Reg

Friendly, kind, loving, compassionate, understanding, hardworking and an amazing singer are only a few ways to describe our friend, family member and community member, Reg Mills.

For the last two months Reg faced end-stage pulmonary fibrosis with strength, dignity and his customary appreciation for life's cherished blessings, most especially his family. This was precious time that he spent at home together with his daughter Laura and son-in-law Sheldon.

Laura took a leave from work to care for her father and mother, Susan. Reg passed away peacefully at home on March 24.

We have set up this Go Fund Me page to help Laura and Susan pay for the funeral costs. Many months of medications, oxygen, ambulances, travel costs, all combined with Laura’s unpaid leave, have depleted the family’s small emergency fund. Supporting this campaign will help get Reg’s family through this very difficult time. 

One of Reg's wishes was to share his music and gifted singing voice with others. As a thank you, Laura will send you a link to some of his music, including Reg performing at Laura and Sheldon’s wedding last year. Reg was well known for his singing voice—he could comfort, inspire and ignite emotion in all who watched and listened. His face always lit up, and his passion for each note was infectious.

Throughout his illness and right up to his death, Reg often said, "I've had a beautiful life. What a beautiful life."  Goodbye, dear friend.
