TSAY union members 453 on strike

My name is Jeannie Andrewcavage! Our local IBEW 453 union is on strike. We have formed a committee of members to help our fellow brothers and sisters that are being affected by the strike. Some of our members may need help financially with bills or groceries until we reach the end of the road we are currently on.

As of today, we are on day 6 of the strike. Our union is standing firm to negotiate a fair cost of living raise for all of our 150 members.

Day 7- Started off with biscuits and gravy Stacey and Brian made, I know some of the other guys helped too still learning everyone’s name lol. Before lunch we had are our Feb Union meeting it was sooo cold the poor kid standing in front of meet was literally shaking in his boots. Buddy and some of the guys made yummy chili provided by the Greene County Democrats. I brought brownies although I think Neil and his friends around the fire ate most of them!! We wrapped up the afternoon by moving the North gate camp closer to the front entrance of FLW to prepare for the incoming weather!! We are still holding strong!! Day 8- Today we battled cold rain, sleet & snow! We made it through all 4 gates had people at them! We had yummy pizza provided by IBEW Local 53! We are so thankful for all the people that have stopped and talked to us, brought us food, coffee, water, donuts. Please keep sharing our post and continue to pray for our 150 members and our families as they are affected too!

Day 10- Sorry I didn’t post yesterday! The cold has been so miserable! Our committee has opened a bank account and is almost ready to start distributing funds to our brothers and sisters! We are so thankful for all the donations that have been coming in! We have had so many people stop and give food and other items we have needed to be out in this cold weather. Next week is going to be much worse! Continue to keep us and our families in your prayers ❤️
