My Story

The Journey So Far
Hey everyone! If you've noticed my absence on social media, you might be wondering what's been going on. Well, let me tell you, it's been a rollercoaster.

I've been dealing with autism and ADHD my whole life, which make my daily sensory experiences complex and extreme. Imagine changing clothes three times a day because any given item starts to hurt as your energy wanes. Or waking up in agony most nights from the folds in your sheets. Yeah, the folds in the sheets. These days, that’s my life.

The Storms
A couple of years ago, it was worse. I was so sensitive I ended up confined to a single room 24/7 with the curtains taped shut due to daily migraines. Just as I started to get better, my sister and husband both faced severe mental health challenges back to back, and I shifted my focus to support them. My sister's journey, unfortunately, led to her end of life.

The Move
Then we had to move because our landlord was becoming increasingly erratic. The move drained our savings, especially as we had to process both my sister's and my husband's possessions.

Facing Myself
Once the emergencies subsided, I had no choice left but to face my own health conditions. I found out I was facing multiple autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and the root issue MCAS. The arthritis was bad enough that my toes were starting to deform. I had to take immediate action to prevent permanent damage.

The Treatment Plan
In the time I’ve been waiting for my specialist referral to pan out, I've created my own treatment plan based on scientific studies, and it's working! I've eliminated migraines, reduced pain, and improved sleep. But it's expensive and has eaten up our remaining savings.

My Ask

The Furry Dream
Before Inga got sick, we were planning to adopt a specialized service dog to help with my autism and other challenges. We put the plan on hold last year when Inga got sick, but this litter is our last chance or we forfeit our deposit.

The Situation
I've been on the list for two years. I've already put down a $2,000 deposit. The total remaining cost is $4,500, and I have $2,500 left in savings.

The Deadline
I need to raise at least $2,000 by October 3rd to bring our pup home on October 8th. I'm hoping to raise at least $4,500 to get a head start on supplies, neutering/spaying, and training.

Why Not a Shelter Dog?
Service dogs need a specific temperament, capacity to train, and intelligence level. We've found an EXCELLENT ethical in-home breeder who specializes in these dog temperaments and raises extremely well-socialized pups.

Breakdown of Costs (numbers updated Oct 8 for accuracy)
$5,500 - Total cost of dog ($3,500 covered by me)
$750 - Supplies
$500 - Initial vet visits and vaccinations

Upcoming costs (donations will go towards these once we hit the initial target)
$750 - Cost of spay/neuter
$1,200 - Pre-service dog puppy training (UPDATE: I've been offered this AT A 100% DISCOUNT(!!) from a top trainer in BC in exchange for my pup being a Demo Dog)
$3,500 - Advanced service dog training

The Heartfelt Plea
It's been uncomfortable asking for help, but I'm really excited about this soft and fuzzy new team member. I know times are tough for everyone, so no shame if you can't contribute. But if you're inspired to help, I'd be eternally grateful.

Thank you for your time and support. Let's make this dream a reality!
