Saving McCoy

McCoy lived a hard life on the streets from what we know. He somehow nded up in a shelter in NYC & was on the kill list due to overpopulation. A great group of people found out he was there & rescued him probably within hours of being "put down." The Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue was that great group of people. McCoy then went to live with the most caring foster family ever, whom I still remain in contact with. They brought McCoy back to life, literally. We were chosen to be his lucky forever parents & the rest I would like to say is history. I wanted McCoy to forget where he had come from and to know everything there is to know about LOVE! He thrived with us! We treat him like a child (a human child) that is. We share our bed with him, he likes to go for car rides & is a great protector but most importantly, a loving companion to our children. He is the gentle giant that he looks likes. McCoy loves his food, to put it lightly. On Thursday night, he jumped on the kitchen counter & swallowed a beef skewer whole. YES WHOLE. I tried to pull the skewer from his mouth but he was too quick and kept chocking it down. The skewer is now lodged in his intestines & he is in critical condition. We are doing everything we can to save him. They don't believe that it has punctured any organs, which is good, but its there & needs to come out, I have always asked God, send me a sign that this is the right dog for us, and he always gives me the prefect one, the ones that I can never say no to & will do everything for. Unfortunately, that love comes with a price tag.... a very hefty price tag. The vet bill as we speak. Timing is everything in my life, the estimated costs for him are currently $3800-$5200. Its so not like us to ask for assistance, but we would truly appreciate any little bit to get him thru this difficult time. Much love to his followers! XXOO
