Saving Hannah's Heart

One of our very own, Hillary Gates and her husband have been given a diagnosis for their precious baby girl that no parent ever wants to hear. Hypoplastic left heart syndrome. This is a severe birth defect that affects the normal blood flow to the heart. Due to an abnormally developed heart at birth the baby will develop problems breathing, a weak pulse, a pounding heart, and ashen or bluish skin color due to inadequate oxygen in the blood. Treatment for this includes multiple heart surgeries. They will be delivering in Nashville at Vanderbilt in order for baby Hannah to receive specialized care and be given the best possible chance at life. With multiple visits to specialists during the pregnancy to monitor mom and baby and prolonged hospitalization after Hannah is born, they have a long road ahead of them and need our help and support to lift some of the financial burden that is to come.
