Meet Gabe
My sweet friend Gabe Gomez is a 47 year old father of 3 boys and a devoted husband to his wife Suzanne for over 20 years. 16 years ago their lives changed forever when Gabe became ill and was diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation type 1, and had his first brain surgery - a cranial decompression. Since that time he has developed 3 other serious conditions that have led him to having shunts placed in his brain to alleviate brain fluid pressure (an additional 11 brain surgeries), a fusion of the bones in his neck to stabilize his spine, and ongoing chemotherapy treatment for a rare autoimmune disease he developed after a spine treatment.
Living In Excruciating Pain
Gabe lives with excruciating pain and fatigue every day without relief that effects every aspect of his life, including his ability to provide for his family and to be the kind of father, husband, and friend he would like to be. Though grateful for the blessings and unique perspective God has given him through this long trial, more than anything Gabe would like the health and strength to love and serve those around him.
Despite having an amazing attitude about his situation and trying hard every day to push forward to be a good stay-at-home dad and do what he can, we have seen a decrease in his quality of life as his pain and conditions have increased over the last few years and he is no longer able to move forward without additional help. The pain is too much to bare.

Suzanne works tirelessly each day at a full time job while juggling raising their 3 boys, seeing to Gabe’s unique needs, and serving as his health care manager. Though they struggle to pay for Gabe’s medical care and accumulated hospital bills, I have never know them to ask for help.
Gabe has now been through many years of procedures and pain management to try and help him, but unfortunately either these treatments did not work or they have become ineffective. He does not know how much longer he can continue in this tough situation.
New Simple Treatments Available
Until recently there was little hope of things getting better for him, but his pain management doctor feels confident that the new A2M treatment recently approved for people like Gabe could change his life.
While the surgery is not a complicated one, it is not covered by insurance and your donation could make a world of difference for this wonderful family!
