Aris Mora was born on June 30, 2016 with multiple congenital heart defects. She underwent her first heart surgery at 2 weeks old at UNC Chapel Hill along with countless studies, evaluations and procedures. We had not seen her little sweet lips for the first 3 months of her life due to tubes being secured with tape. Although we have never heard her cry or laugh, we can on occasion hear her voice slip thru the trach while she’s sleeping, a soft sleepy sigh that brings happy tears to our eyes.
Since she was born she has been vent and trach dependent, and in her 18 months, has been hospitalized on the average of every 6 weeks. She has undergone multiple procedures and there have been hundreds of days where all we want to do it cry. But, she smiles a lot. She has surprised Doctors more times than we can count, and has proven to all of us that she does not intend on leaving this earth without a fight. If SHE believes, then WE believe, and our faith tells us that God hears our prayers.
She is facing another surgery which needs to occur out of state. Without it, Aris cannot live. We will be leaving soon for the Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia where they will do their best in obtaining the needed blood flow to her lungs.
Money is needed to help offset the anticipated expenses such as travel expenses- (Aris will need medical transport), unforeseen medical bills, and other general living expenses as much of her supplies go above and beyond. It is so hard to ask for help when everyone seems to be struggling but any amount you can spare would be of great help. And whether you can give or not, please include her in your prayers, as she needs that most of all.
