We are an NGO in Nigeria and this is what we do . Save the Slum Initiative is a voluntary non – profit organization which was established in 2016. The organization is committed to reshaping the lives of the under privileged by working with them to seek ways in which to improve their lives, then work with them on various aspects of these. We work to bring about long term and sustainable transformation to their quality of life by facilitating the provision of better community-based Healthcare, empowerment, education and environmental improvement. The Save the slum initiative is made up of volunteers who are both passionate and committed to saving lives and uplifting the less privileged . ln its years of existence, we have carried out some number of activities in Lagos and Ogun state.
We carried out an environmental awareness program at Kuto market in June and a 3 days programme at Ijora Badia between January 5th-7th 2017. We carried out environmental awareness/ sanitation, Funfair for children, inspirational talks ranging from sex education, violence prevention, self esteem, moral building, organized medical checkup for all ages and many more. In the course of our work, we have had the honour of partnering with organizations like Hican initiative, Leumas property and persons/ bodies who have contributed like Wazobia fm, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya, OAPS like willy willy of Wazobia FM Abuja, kodydkodinator, Uzo, RatataNation of Wazobia Fm Lagos and Sheye of kiss FM Lagos. Save the slum Initiative has worked in two states so far and we look forward to expanding into more. We kindly ask you to partner with us, so we can Save The Slum together. "
