 PO IS ALIVE ! ❤️‍
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Three blood transfusion's.
</div>
<div>
 A race against time.
</div>
<div>
 And a little life that nearly slipped away.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Meet Po ❤️
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 A sweet, 3 year old Pug, rescued from a backyard breeder confiscation and now a cherished member of the Animal Rescue Consortium family.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Po was safe in foster care, loved and finally getting the life he deserved.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Then, without warning, he began collapsing.
</div>
<div>
 Not stumbling. Not losing his balance. Simply keeling over, without warning.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 It was TERRIFYING.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 After two days of these frightening episodes, we brought Po to our longtime veterinarian for an examination. He observed horizontal nystagmus - involuntary eye movement, raising concerns about a possible neurological or seizure related condition. A full blood panel was ordered, and Po was sent home with Keppra while we awaited the results.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Then came the phone call that stopped us in our tracks.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Our veterinarian, a man we’ve trusted and worked alongside for DECADES, called with an urgency in his voice that we’d rarely heard.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 GET PO TO AN EMERGENCY HOSPITAL. IMMEDIATELY!”
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 When we asked why, his answer was chilling.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 HE COULD DIE AT ANY MINUTE!
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Po’s red blood cell count was catastrophically low. His little body was in crisis.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 There was no time to waste.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Po was rushed from the far reaches of Long Island to one of the finest emergency and diagnostic veterinary hospitals in the lower Hudson Valley.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The medical team went straight to work.

 ❤️ **PO SURVIVED.** ❤️
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Our little boy fought his way back.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We were told that without the rapid intervention of our extraordinary veterinarian, Po might not have survived another TWO HOURS.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Two hours.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Think about that.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 **EXPERIENCE. INSTINCT. WISDOM. AND A VETERINARIAN WHO KNEW SOMETHING WAS TERRIBLY WRONG.**
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 That is what saved Po’s life.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Today, our little warrior is preparing to leave the hospital, alive and once again surrounded by love. His recovery and medical needs will continue, but he has been given something priceless.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 **A SECOND CHANCE**
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 And now we need your help.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 This extraordinary effort to save one little life has taken a substantial toll on ARC’s emergency medical fund — the very fund that allows us to say YES when the next desperate animal needs immediate, lifesaving care.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We never want the decision to save a life to come down to whether we can afford to try.
</div>
<div>

<div>
 **PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION**
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 No amount is too small. Every dollar helps replenish the resources that saved Po and will be needed to save the next animal whose life hangs in the balance.

 Po survived because people cared enough to act
