Rescuing Kid

This is hard for us to have to do but we are asking if anyone can please help us rescue our horse Kid. As you know we had to rescue our other horse Dexter recently. When we went to pick up Dexter we found Kid in worse health/condition than Dexter was in. (We had to sell both horses about a year and half ago).
I was in total shock when I saw him, he is skin and bones. He is at least 200 lb underweight and it broke my heart to see him like this. It was very hard for me to leave him there but I promised him I would do everything I could to get him out of there and to a safe place. I know if we can come up with the money to purchase him back they would sell him to us but we do not have the ability to come up with all of the money ourselves. We had no idea this is the care that he would be given and this is not what we wanted for him. We are worried if he doesn't start getting the weight back on he could colic and/or die so it is urgent that we get the purchasing process started as soon as possible. With these cooler nights and winter coming he is at risk because he does not have enough fat on him to keep him warm. If he doesn't have enough fat and muscle he will be using what food he is getting to help his body stay warm, instead of using the food to gain weight. He may continue to lose weight which he absolutely cannot afford to do.
The picture doesn't really show how bad he looks, it was the only one I could get of him quickly.
We need $1,000 to purchase him back and anything above that would be given to the rescue to help with his vet care and for his feed and hay. With the help of the rescue we have found him a foster home and we just need the money to purchase him and get him there. At the foster home, they will put him on a special diet to help regain the weight back safely. He will have a barn that he can be in to help keep him warm through the winter. Any help would be greatly appreciated and we will be forever grateful, as will Kid.
