Meraki is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe what happens when you leave a piece of yourself (your soul, creativity, or love) in your work. When you love doing something, anything, so much that you put something of yourself into it.
Angie's dream has always been to open her own restaurant. Her passion has always been helping others. In 2020 after decades of hard work and many ups and downs, my mother finally was able to open her restaurant; Meraki Creations. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and after weeks of doing everything she could to stay open and give back to our community, my mother had to make the difficult decision to close Meraki Creations.
Because Meraki Creations is considered a start-up and was only 52 days old when the state went into lockdown due to the pandemic, resources and assistance are limited and are mostly NOT available to her. At this time, she does not know if this is a temporary or permanent closure.
Her intention is to serve yummy homemade creations while simultaneously serving and giving back to the community. From sack lunches for kids, meals for the elderly, and disabled, to hosting dinners for the homeless population around town, my mother wanted EVERYONE to feel welcome at Meraki Creations regardless of nationality, financial status, race, or sexual orientation.
All donations will go directly to Meraki Creations. Please help us continue to serve the amazing people of Yakima, WA, and give back to our amazing community.
We would like to thank the friends, family, and community that has supported Meraki Creations and my efforts to remain open, beautify the business/neighborhood, contribute community support and events, and provide meals to the elderly and those in need through the Covid-19 Pandemic.
