Saving & making a better Shantell's Just Until

Commission approves foreclosure of Shantell’s Just Until building due to more than $50K in code enforcement fines. $50,000 in fines!

During the pandemic, The city of Sanford, the state of Florida and the United States of America on a whole relaxed their rules for the Food and Beverage industry. This resulted in Sanford and the state of Florida giving out cafe, sidewalk licenses, food truck licenses, and even promoting outdoor dining for free to limit indoor gatherings. As great as this sounds, the City of Sanford is now punishing me for this, no one else but me. Which is my perspective in-short.

This Gofundme was created to raise funds to pay the imposed fines. Although I plan to ask for amnesty, these funds will be used to get plans drawn for an approved permanent roof structure. Which I will then get approved by the city.

The tent has always been a temporary plan, enabling us to make money while we work on a more permanent plan. It also gave our customers the option to choose outdoor dining vs us having to shut down entirely.

Personally speaking, I feel isolated. We are the last black property owners and I am the last black owned business on Sanford avenue and the entire downtown Sanford! Please help me keep my business open. I can't do this without your support. Thanks in advance !
