Saving Joe Wahkan, High Content Wolfdog Pup

Donation protected
Joe Wahkan is a high content wolfdog pup who is enduring significant medical challenges due to the consequences of severe malnutrition he experienced during his early weeks of life.  Joe Wahkan is diagnosed with a low bone density, which means his bones are like glass and will easily fracture.  He is blind in his right eye due to the development of a cataract.  It is the Animal Ophthalmologist's concern that the pup will develop a cataract in his left eye as well in the near future.

Joe Wahkan has undergone orthopedic surgery to have a plate inserted into his bone to help support the tibia until it can heal.  The Orthopedic Surgeon is concerned that the softness of the bone will prolong the healing and recovery time.

Further, Joe Wahkan's right eye is a different color than his left, due to inflammation.  The Animal Ophthalmologist surgeon recommends urgent surgery before the eye ruptures.

As we live on an island, each time we go to see either the Ophthalmologist or Orthopedic Surgeons, we are incurring travel expenses, which includes ferry and hotel. I am trying to combine the visits whenever I can, to reduce costs.

Saving the life of Joe Wahkan has become my life's mission.   He has been my rescue, and as such, I am not able to walk away and leave him to his fate.  He needs assistance.  I had taken off five weeks of work to support him when he was 4 - 9 weeks of age, and he had been recovering very well.  He had regained his significant fur loss and was adding on some pounds to his fragile frame.  However, additional complications of malnutrition have since come to light.  Last week, Joe Wahkan had surgery for a fractured leg and is requiring other surgeries.  The truth is that all of these veterinary fees and expenses have become unaffordable.

Breeding of high content wolfdogs is not for the inexperienced.  These animals need extra care that Joe Wahkan did not receive.  The breeder's lack of knowledge is not the pup's fault.  I am here to help Joe recover to the best that he can.  And if it is in his future, Joe Wahkan can help spread the word about his journey and become an Ambassador for wellness, healing, and in the process, maybe even help the human spirit with self-discovery.

With your help, Joe Wahkan's current substantial medical fees, follow-up-care fees,  and future surgical fees including expenses can be covered to give him the very best opportunity of living a life he was born to live.

This high content wolfdog pup is generous of spirit and loving in nature.  He greets everybody with enthusiasm and puts the smiles on the faces of all who cross his path.

I would feel so blessed and be forever grateful if you could help me with Joe Wahkans' GoFundMe Campaign.  He is the very best little wolfdog pup and deserves a chance at life.

** Any funds received that is no longer required for Joe Wahkan, we will donate to wolfdog sanctuaries, example:  Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary.
