Saving Ethel and Remembering Melvin
Donation protected
My sister Ethel Catanus is the youngest of my three siblings. She is married to Melvin Ledesma. They have 2 kids together. Melvin, who had been married, has 6 kids in that marriage when the wife died of cancer. Ethel works for iQor, a call center in Manila, Philippines.
On Sunday October 7, 2018, just a little after 10:00pm, Melvin drove my sister to work on his motorcycle just like any other day. At around 10:47pm, their motorcycle on a green light collided with a fuel tanker that tried to beat the red light. Melvin was sent to the hospital that night. He died the next day Monday. My sister Ethel was critical. After a brief stay at the ER, they moved her to the ICU for observation. She is scheduled for a CT scan to see if there are blood clots in her brain. She is in and out of consciousness and is responsive. She still doesn’t know that Melvin did not make it.
