Saving Cougar the Cat

The love of our life, Cougar the Courageous Cat, was hit by a car on August 2, 2017 and was left with horrific injuries ... six (6) pelvic fractures; three (3) femur breaks with each break being shattered; internal chest bleeding and a collapsed lung.
We rushed him to our amazing local vet who immediately recognised the specialist orthopedic work needed to save Cougar. On the mercy dash to Sydney, with the Vet's estimate of $4-$5K ringing in our ears, we just knew we'd find the funds if in fact Cougar could be saved. When the final 'estimate' turned out to be $12K we were faced with an unimaginable decision, knowing there was no way we could raise that sort of money.
One look at the sweet imploring faces of my son and my cat, I found myself saying 'DO IT'.
Now reality has hit, and we need to raise the funds.
Those of you who have pets will understand just how important they as a valued member of the family. They are the epitome of love and laughter. They make us smile when we are down, and their dependance on us grounds us and makes us step up. Cougar is a spirited lilac Burmese who has been a part of our small family for nine years. He has survived tough times and was missing for nine days at one point after an animal attack. But he comes back into our arms every time life throws him a shit sandwich. This time will be no exception.
Prognosis is good. The recovery will be long and arduous, but if all goes well, in 6-12 months our baby boy will be his old self again.
We are asking for you to spare any amount to help us fund the surgery. It is a big ask, but even a small contribution would mean the world to us. My son, myself and Cougar will be eternally grateful (not sure our dog will feel as strongly – lol!). Thank you for reading our story and thank you for considering to help save Cougar. TLCx
