SAVING A TEEN

(ASSISTANCE NEEDED) ASKING FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO HELP SAVE A TEENAGER IN NEED OF DIRECTION, DISCIPLINE AND UNDERSTANDING. Do any of us truly understand what it was like being a teen in today's world?  The constant stress and pressure they are under to conform and belong is too much to comprehend?  Do you know what it's like to feel lost, confused, depressed but afraid to talk about it?  Our society, the same one we all live and function in,  is being overcome with teenagers and young adults getting buried in all these emotions and struggles to the point that they make bad decisions or just give up! We love our children, our grandchildren, our nieces and nephews and we pray for them, we encourage them, but often cannot save them.   We have a teenager in our family that is experiencing these struggles and headed in the wrong direction. Last school year our nephew Aubrey (Sonny) Kendrick was able to attend  Camden Military Academy in South Carolina.   This opportunity and experience was the best thing for Sonny's development because of the structure, education and preparation for a young man's future.  Sonny excelled at school and closed out his junior year as a Platoon Commander.  We are all so proud of him. Unfortunately, because of the cost of attending CMA, his parents are unable to send him back for his final year.  As a result, Sonny has slipped back into depression, fighting anxiety and finds himself making the wrong decisions and mistakes.  We all have been praying and asking for God's help in providing the necessary tools, direction and means so that Sonny can return to CMA  for his final year.  We truly believe that prayer has been answered. Camden Military  Academy reached out to Sonny's parents and have offered financial assistance.  Unfortunately, his parents are still unable to cover the balance of the costs and that's where we believe, we all come in.  Through prayer, requesting guidance for what we can do to help we realized that we need to share this story and our concern with friends and family.  We are asking for help in the form of additional prayer for Sonny and financial assistance helping our nephew return to Camden for his final year.  This additional year will help ensure Sonny has the opportunity to become the outstanding young man we all know he can be. We have started this GoFundMe account for Sonny.  The account is set up directly to Camden Military Academy for his tuition.  We are in the need of raising $15,000, the tuition is $30,000 a year.
