Help Save The Victoria Squash Club
The Victoria Squash Club (VictoriaSquashClub.com ) is the oldest running squash club in Victoria BC and one of the oldest in all of BC. It has been tirelessly maintained and operated by Stuart Dixon for the majority of it’s existence and has been the training grounds for countless juniors and professionals alike.
Although the club is a corporate entity, it actually operates much like a not-for-profit facility. Stuart purposely keeps prices down to facilitate easy entry into the game and to allow new players a way to affordably adopt it into their daily lives. For Stuart, it’s more about the love of the game – than it is about business. That being said, the club can generally manage its month-to-month expenditures, however recently there have been two very large bills that are both due in July; the clubs annual property tax bill ($12,000) and a common area improvement bill ($15,000) totaling $27,000. This is an extremely difficult financial proposition for Stuart to take on by himself and in all likelihood impossible to achieve on his own. Without the support of the squash community, the Victoria Squash Club will be forced to close its doors this summer.
Anyone who knows Stuart is well aware that he is extremely unselfish and always makes time to have a chat with anyone (or dog) he encounters, squash player or not. He is the last person to ever ask for a handout, but always the first to offer a hand to those in need.
I've always believed that you should choose passion over money in life and if you follow your heart things always have a way of working out. Stuart is one of those people who did just this and has taken the burden of keeping the Victoria Squash Club up and running and squash alive in Victoria for decades and now he needs some help to continue to do so.

Donate $5,000+ - Lifetime Victoria Squash Club Membership
Donate $3,000+ - Court Name - includes a 1 year membership. Court 1, 2 or 3 will be named in your/or your companies honour and this will be commemorated with your last name stenciled on the court door.
Donate $1,000 - 1 Year Adult Victoria Squash Club Membership + 3 Free Months at the Victoria Squash Club. New members only.
Donate $500 - Buy a 1 Year Junior Membership for any kid in Victoria. If you don't have a child of your own we will offer this to one of the kids who come in from one of the school who loves squash, but cannot afford a membership. All the equipment they need will be provided free of charge.
Donate $250 - 5 x 45 Minute Private Squash Lessons by me, Chris Hanebury. They do not expire and are transferable. If you live out of the city you will have to wait patiently for me to visit or you can contact me about flying me in.
Donate $75 - Play Me (Chris Hanebury) in a Match (it can count as a challenge match on Sporty HQ and count towards provincial ranking points!) This does not expire and are transferable.

Donate $10 +- Sign Our Save The Club Mural - Anyone who donates $10 or more will get their name added to the save the club mural. Even if you purchase 1 of the other reward packages above you will also be added to this special mural. If you live in Victoria you can sign it in person and if you don't we will write your name for you. We will display the mural in the club and post pictures when the campaign is complete.
About Stuart Dixon
Stuart Dixon is a member of the Squash Canada Hall Of Fame (2010) and has coached many National Teams and has produced loads of top junior players. He's coached thousands of juniors over the years and has a passion for squash, coaching and for working with kids. He is the owner, manager and head squash professional of The Victoria Squash Club.
About Me
My name is Chris Hanebury from Ajax, Ontario. I graduated from Western Ontario in 2009 and I've known Stuart from when I played as a junior in the 90's. I moved to Victoria 7 years ago to do my Masters at the University of Victoria and at that time Stuart got me a job coaching squash at St. Michaels University School where I am still coaching to this day. Stuart was incredibly welcoming and kind to me and was the best mentor I've ever had the privilege of working with. It was evident instantly that he absolutely loves coaching and that he posses the perfect balance between fun and competitive spirit in his teaching.
If we lose the squash club, we will lose one of the best social communities and longest running squash clubs in British Columbia. But, if we can raise enough money to pay off these 2 bills the club will be able to stay open! At that time I can help Stuart come up with a plan to attract new members to cover future unexpected costs such as these.
