On 11 June 1997 my friend, Neeva's, twin sons came into this world, having spent the previous 10 weeks fighting for life. 20 years later they have found themselves in a situation of fighting for the roof over their heads, so I have created this campaign as a way of sharing their story, whilst asking for urgent financial support.
The goal is to reduce their mortgage, to an amount that they can afford to repay, so they can keep their home. This situation has arisen due to many factors, including a separation, a terrible housing market, Neeva being diagnosed with Lyme Disease 4 years ago and very limited income. If my friend and her sons do not raise enough funds they will be forced to sell their home, meaning more instability for a family that has experienced more than their fair share of instability and uncertainty the past 2 decades.
Neeva lives by the motto "you don't ask, you don't get", especially when it comes to her son, Josh, who lives with significant disability and additional medical needs. Everyone knows the saying “It takes a village to raise a child”, right? Well, when it comes to someone with significant disability and/or medical needs, it often takes a lot more people to support that person for their entire life. Neeva would love to be able to provide ALL of the resources Josh requires to live a full life, but at the moment she doesn't have the means, so hopefully this is how I am going to help her make that happen.
