Save the Roundhouse

Many of you are undoubtedly already well acquainted with The Roundhouse (aka The Center for Cultural Evolution or “Bekki’s House.”) My beloved establishment has stood in Colrain for over 27 years as a cultural center and warm, welcoming space where guests can come to find connection and inspiration. After approximately 300,000 visitors, countless workshops and celebrations, and infinite memories made, I’m heartbroken to report that The Roundhouse has been shuttered! Due to new building code changes, I recently received a Cease and Desist order disallowing any groups to stay here until The Roundhouse is in compliance with current fire and safety standards.
In order to meet these new safety regulations, I need to make significant renovations. The Roundhouse needs to install a sprinkler and fire alarm system that coordinate with one another and the fire station and make some changes to the driveway to address parking needs.

Unless these renovations are made, The Roundhouse will be closed permanently, which would make me and so many of those who have come to love her despair.

The cost of these upgrades will be approximately $100,000. While that may seem a small price to pay to continue to keep The Roundhouse and the spirit of community she embodies alive, it's one that is far beyond my current capabilities… I've already depleted my accounts trying to resolve this, and so I’m reaching out to you for your support.

If you have been invigorated by the Roundhouse over the years, or if you simply embrace the spirit of creativity and inspiration that she stands for, I ask you to please join forces with me and help keep her open. It’s my hope to keep the Roundhouse the vibrant, thriving creative center she has been over the years, with open doors and a warm hearth. But to do that, I need your help. Together, I know we can continue to keep The Roundhouse alive and active for many years to come.
