New home for Borneo Elephants

Tax deductible

*********NEW PROJECT UPDATE - URGENT!*******

Recently we visited our dear elephants in Borneo and made a trip to Lok Kawi Zoo.  Lok Kawi has been in the news after elephants in their care have died and we won't lie to you, the current situation for the 14 elephants at this zoo needs to be much better.

The elephants are generally in good health, but with multiple bull elephants soon reaching maturity they need more space and enrichment for all the elephants.  There is a mother with a baby born in captivity that needs space of their own and a play area.  As well as staff accommodation so the elephants can be monitored and cared for 24hrs a day.

Borneo Wildlife Preservation has committed to assisting with the build-out the current enclosure, to more than double its current size, including a new barn and play area for the mother and baby and enrichment areas including sand pit, water hole and foraging stations for the adults.

We need USD15,000 for this project and works start on Feb 5th, 2020.

Any donations will help to make this a reality and provide a better life for the elephants.

In the future, we hope at least some of these elephants will be relocated to BES, the dedicated elephant sanctuary currently under construction.

PLEASE HELP US MAKE THIS A REALITY!

************BES UPDATE*************
Thanks to you, we are now providing 800kgs of nutrient-rich food including bananas and sweet potatoes every month and special baby formula for Nita, along with with a mat to help keep her comfortable at night.

***************OUR STORY***********

Borneo elephants desperately need your help.   Their habitat is disappearing fast due to human expansion and agriculture development for palm oil.  Every year more and more elephants are killed and if we don't act now, they will become extinct in our lifetime!

Helping to protect this species will also help to protect other endemic species such as orang-utans, proboscis monkeys and hundreds of other bird and mammal species who are at risk of extension.

WHERE YOUR MONEY WILL GO
We are raising funds for an eco-farm at Borneo's first elephant sanctuary, BES.  This sanctuary will provide a place where injured, displaced and orphaned elephants can receive food, medical care and be rehabilitated, hopefully for re-release.

There are less than 1200 elephants left in the wild in Borneo and they WILL be extinct if change does not happen now.

Please help us to save the Borneo elephants.  100% of funds from this gofundme go to the elephants.

Thank you for your trust and support!

Borneo Wildlife Preservation (is a 501(c)(3) public charity).  100% of funds go directly to saving the elephants.  For more information, visit: http://borneowp.org/
