Liberty Hill Farm's Big Red Barn needs your help!

Tax deductible
Built in the 1800’s, the iconic red barn at Liberty Hill Farm has captured the attention of travelers, photographers, and community members alike.  Nestled in the White River valley of the Green Mountains of Vermont, this towering, impressive red building remains the only barn in the Rochester Valley to still house dairy cows.   Atop the big red barn sits a bronze weathervane featuring a dairy cow, brought to Liberty Hill Farm (once home to the Emerson family) in 1889 by Dr. Charles Wesley Emerson, the founder of Boston’s Emerson College. This splendid cow has welcomed both visitors and friends for almost 200 years.  The cupola restoration is vital to the Liberty Hill Center for Agricultural Education as the barn serves as a central setting for programs and events that showcase sustainable dairy farming and quality animal care while educating participants on the history of Vermont dairy farming.
