Save South Park

Save South Park has launched a project to oppose the August 17, 2017 decision by the Park County Colorado Commissioners to rezone residential property which now permits hard rock mining at the Fairplay AU Pit north of Fairplay (Resolution 2017-45 ).  The images above are from 1964 and 2017.  Which represents your vision for the future?

The Save South Park project is raising funds for legal assistance.  Our first priority is to appeal the County Commissioners' resolution under Colorado Rule of Civil Procedure 106(a)(4), which provides that decisions rendered by government bodies are reviewable by district courts.

The total costs of the suit could reach $50,000.  We need your help to build this legal challenge. If we succeed it will reverse the re-zoning and will send a strong message to our county commissioners that caving in to corporate mining interests at the expense of their citizens is not acceptable.

Please check out this video for more about our story.

Please check the updates for this campaign for more details.  Visit our Website  and Facebook to stay informed.  We will be having regular meetings, and have formed a non-profit organization to protect the property rights of all South Park residents. (Wendy Kerner is the Treasurer for the new non-profit organization, so she is listed as the beneficiary of this campaign).  Get involved!
