Hello, my name is David Shalmoni and I am the owner of Solebox.
For over ten years, Solebox has been right here, in the heart of the city—Repairing and restoring Denver’s shoes. Today, I am asking for your support to help me raise money to keep my shoe repair shop open.
I have worked hard to build this business, starting with a single chair and a can of polish. I literally stood out here on the sidewalk, waiting for those first few customers to trust me with their favorite shoes.
Like many small businesses, this pandemic has brought my business to an absolute stand still. And the worst part, no one knows how much longer this will last.
I absolutely believe that social distancing is the best way to keep all of us safe, but with bills and expenses still pouring in, my savings will not hold up. I certainly have patience and believe that we will endure, but I also worry about the reality of possibly closing Solebox, forever.
This would absolutely crush me, especially after all these years, and after putting so much of myself into this work.
If I’ve ever needed or wanted anything in my life, I have always turned to hard work to make it happen. But in this case, I am left completely helpless as there are no customers to serve and no hard work to be done.
Family, friends, my beloved customers and honestly, anyone that believes in working hard for yourself, please help me keep my little business, in business.
This is a very humbling moment for me, but today, I’ve set up a GoFundMe page and I’m asking for your support.
I can’t wait to get back to work, get my hands dirty with polish under the nails, and have Denver shined and smiling again.
