Father in Life or Death Medical Crisis

SUFFRING FROM GRAFT VERSUS HOST DISEASE (GVHD).  WITHOUT YOUR HELP, HE HAS LESS THAN A 20% CHANCE OF SURVIVAL.



Three years ago, Roger Twomey was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.



On December 18, 2012, Roger received a Stem Cell Transplant which led to Roger's cancer currently being in Remission.



In early 2013, Roger was diagnosed with Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD). This is a disease caused by the Stem Cell Transplant that is just as deadly as cancer itself. GVHD recently made national headlines when "Good Morning America" host Robin Roberts was diagnosed with the disease and made a full recovery, but only after receiving the very costly treatments that saved her life.



Roger must have a treatment called "Photopherisis" in order to save his life. Without the treatment, his prognosis for survival is less than 20%. The cost of the treatment is in excess of $200,000.



Roger is an Adoptive & Foster parent and has been for more than 25 years to 7 children. Some are grown but the youngest, Eli, still lives with Roger. However, all of his children still look to Roger for guidance and would be devastated by the loss of their "Dad".



During the last few years, over $600,000 has been spent to cure Roger's cancer.  Roger has exhausted every resource, including refinancing his home and selling off assets, in order to stay alive for his family. This disease has left him unable to work and there is a real threat that the home he and his children have called "HOME" could be lost.  Curing his GVHD and bringing him back to health is the only possible solution.
