Oso (which means 'bear') is our 5-year old samoyed doggie who was rescued from Korea. We adopted him in February of this year, completely changing the terrible fate this doggo was heading for.
When Oso was rescued, he was in really bad shape. He had heartworms, a serious skin infection all over his back, and was severaly malnourished and under-weight. All of those issues were succesfully fixed, but one remained - due to years of malnourishment, Oso's pancreas stopped producing insulin, resulting in diabetes, which is irreversible in dogs. For the remainder of his life, he'll be on a twice-a-day regimen of insulin injections.
Oso is in really good shape now, and showered with unconditional love from everyone that meets him! However, the diabetes quickly caused the progression of cataracts in Oso's eyes, and just over the last couple of months, he's become completely blind.
Why do we need your help?
We've done absolutely everything possible to give Oso a great life, and saving his vision is the last piece. We hope to raise the funds for his cataract surgery quickly, before they become hyper-mature cataratcs which may be inoperable. The total cost of the surgery is over $6000, and we'd love your help getting there as soon as possible!
Despite having such a difficult childhood, Oso is the sweetest, most gentle, fluffy cuddle bug of all time! Anything that you can do to help to get us closer to providing him with the surgery, will mean the world to both doggie and his humans. <3
