Keep New Dawn Open!

New Dawn Equine Rescue was founded in beautiful Santa Clara County in March of 2014 by Katelyn Hayes, Founder and President. New Dawn opened to serve the community and surrounding communities as a non profit horse rescue that would provide rescue and rehab to abused, neglected, slaughter bound equines and orphaned foals. New Dawn would also provide programs for families, therapy reasons and kids needing community service hours. The first 2-5 years for the average rescue can be extremely trying financially among other things. Todays date New Dawn has rescued and rehabed 15 equines from slaughter, animal control and orphaned foals. At New Dawn every equine has a home with them until the perfect fit comes along whether this be 60 days or 6 years, they are safe. New Dawn has recently come upon some financially hard times between their current property going up in the price, vet bills after 3 severe injuries, feed, their increase in senior feed for their senior equines, new fencing that was required for their currrent property, farrier visits and their required insurance that is needed at their current property. New Dawn has not only saved 15 equines but has also served as a peaceful sanctuary that locals can visit and kids can learn about the equines while also learning life long lessons such as compassion, forgivness and responsiblity. Over the next 45 days we hope to raise the necessary funds to stay afloat while we work on getting steady funding from month to month!
